FPD Officer Nomination Period Now Open--Closes 31 May

The FPD Nominating Committee is pleased to announce that the nomination period is now open for the following FPD leadership positions:

  • Chair
  • Vice Chair

These key, elected positions will serve a two-year, leadership term from January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2023.  Complete nominations must be submitted to the email address below no later than May 31, 2021.  Please note that FPD is not using APA’s Election Portal this year for the nominating process.

We ask that each qualifying FPD member consider serving FPD in one of these leadership roles.  Doing so provides an opportunity to shape the programs and services FPD offers its membership.  Division leadership also provides insight into APA programs, access to APA leadership, and expanded contacts with other divisions and state chapters.

Position responsibilities and the election process may be found in FPD’s bylaws at:  https://federal.planning.org/about/division-business/.  Please take time to review the duties and responsibilities of the vacant positions.  Division elections will conform to APA governance.

QUALIFYING FPD MEMBERS:

  • Be a member-in-good-standing of both APA and FPD
  • Provide a Candidate Statement not to exceed 500 words.  This statement should state the position sought, i.e.: “I wish to be elected FPD Vice Chair...,” describe past contributions to FPD, and share your vision, should you be elected to an office.

Email your nomination package to the following no later than midnight, May 31, 2021, PDT.  Receipt confirmations will be sent out within 48 hours.  Send to the federalplanning@gmail.com

Candidates may be asked to participate in a short phone interview to assist the Nominating Committee in establishing the final election slate.

The Nominating Committee is chaired by Brett James, LLA, AICP, Immediate Past Chair FPD.  Additional committee members Andrew Wright, AICP, PMP (FPD Chair 2020-2021), Jill Schreifer, AICP, PMP (FPD Vice Chair, 2018-2019) and Heather Mendenall, AICP (Secretary, 2021-2022).  Please contact Brett James at rbrjames@gmail.com with questions or comments.
